Rockstar dropped the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 yesterday and there was a lot of skepticism about what the game was running on and if it was in-game or CGI, but Rockstar has come out to confirm how the trailer was created once and for all.
On Twitter, Rockstar posted that the second trailer was captured entirely in-game from a PS5 (base PS5 is assumed) and that it’s comprised of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes.
The second part in particular is super interesting given we assumed it was all in-game, but it’s interesting to know that half of the trailer feature gameplay.
Obviously no hud is visible, but there’s not a lot of the trailer that looks like the gameplay of past GTA games. There’s multiple parts where you’ve got an over the shoulder view behind Jason or Lucia or that there’s vehicle gameplay that we’re assuming are from gameplay components.
Grand Theft Auto 6 releases on May 26th, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar lifted the lid on a bunch of information yesterday including all of the locations from the game, the main characters as well as over 70 screenshots which you can find HERE.
