Razer’s Project Carol Is A Gaming Chair Head Cushion With Surround Sound And Haptic Feedback

This should get good feedback.

Razer has announced a slew of new products at CES 2023, but one of the more interesting among the mix is something codenamed “Project Carol”.

Aside from being named after somebody’s mum, this concept from Razer’s R&D division is a unique marriage of the gaming brand’s audio prowess and its recent forays into the world of gaming chairs.

The idea is simple enough – a headrest that attaches to existing chairs (designed with Razer’s range in mind, of course) that offers near-field surround sound combined with Razer’s existing HyperSense haptic technology to put players’ heads right in the game.

The thing that makes Project Carol sound like a winner, aside from the novel concept, is its compatibility. With a fits-all design and the ability for HyperSense to convert game audio natively to haptic feedback, it sounds like an incredibly simple upgrade that’d truly elevate the desktop gaming experience.

Of course, it’s little more than a concept for now and not a product you’ll be able to pick up any time soon, but if you’re keen to read more about the project you can do that right here.
