The Backbone One PlayStation Edition Is Finally Getting An Android Version

Coming soon to Aussie retailers!

Sony and Backbone have announced that the Backbone One PlayStation Edition, the officially-licensed mobile PlayStation controller, is getting an Android version and it’s releasing in Australian stores on in July.

The Backbone One – PlayStation Edition Mobile Gaming Controller for Android (a mouthful) sports the same essential design as its predecessor with aesthetics based on the PS5’s DualSense wireless controller including its button layout and icons. It’s the only mobile controller officially recognised by the PlayStation Remote Play app as an actual DualSense controller, so it’s perfect for playing PS4 and PS5 games remotely.

The Android edition of this controller is coming to local retailers on July 6th and it’s available to pre-order now for $179 from the below:

Every pre-order of the Backbone One PlayStation Edition for Android from selected local retailers will also receive a gift of the 3rd Earth Protection Case for Backbone One, while stocks last.

The Backbone App is also now available now for Android devices. For those who pick up this new Backbone One PlayStation Edition for Android, the app is even fully customised to include the iconic PlayStation button icons in menus. The app also features a dedicated content row that is updated regularly with all the new game releases, news and updates from PlayStation, and will intelligently gather all your other non-PlayStation Android gaming content into one place, including mobile-native games like Genshin Impact and Diablo Immortal and services like SteamLink and NVIDIA GeForce NOW.
