As discovered by Nibel on Twitter, it seems a new project in the Resident Evil franchise is being revealed in a couple of short weeks. It’s set to be revealed on September 9 at 3:00 pm UTC, which for us means an early Tuesday morning reveal.

Not a whole lot is known about Project Resistance beyond its name and the fact that players who register in advance will be able to go hands-on with it at Tokyo Game Show.

Though the series is perhaps due for another single-player installation after Resident Evil 7 released back in 2017, it’s hard not to get spin-off vibes from the nature of the announcement. Perhaps it’ll be something in the multiplayer space, given the hands-on opportunities being awarded to those who get in quick.
In any case, we’ll certainly be keeping our eyes out for any other news pertaining to Project Resistance and what its exact place within the Resident Evil universe is.
