There was an Xbox Series X information blow-out last night, but Digital Foundry’s extensive look at backwards compatibility is seriously impressive.
When playing Xbox One games that have unlocked frame rates or no frame rate caps, Digital Foundry noted that the Xbox Series X was able to hit 60 FPS consistently, for games that may have struggled to maintain a frame rate of more than 30-40 FPS on the Xbox One X. It’s important to note that this is the case for games that haven’t been optimised, which is pretty impressive, and should be even better once developers go back and optimize these games.
Games such as Hitman, Sekiro, Final Fantasy XV and Call of Duty Modern Warfare all run a lot better on the Xbox Series X.
