Xbox Game Pass Isn’t Coming To Other Consoles Anytime Soon

For a long while there were whispers that Xbox Game Pass could come to other platforms such as the Nintendo Switch but Phil Spencer has poured cold water on that in an interview with GamesRadar.

During the interview, he said: “We have no plans to bring it to any other kind of closed platforms right now, mainly because those closed platforms don’t want something like Game Pass”. He continued by saying that “There’s a ton of open platforms out there for us to grow in: the web, PC, and mobile. So all of our focus, frankly, is on those platforms.”

We know that Xbox Game Pass is set to come to smart TVs as well as a standalone streaming device in the near future, but it also sounds like Spencer isn’t ruling out that Game Pass could come to other consoles at some point in time.

“In the end, when we say we want everybody to be able to play on Xbox, we really mean if we can bring that full experience to a device that players want, we are totally open to those discussions.”
