Xbox Has Signed A 10 Year Agreement With Nintendo To Bring Call Of Duty To Nintendo Switch

Interesting.

Microsoft announced in December that it was working on an agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo Switch consoles and it has now followed through and signed that agreement.

In a tweet published moments ago, Xbox said that it had signed a binding 10-year contract with Nintendo to bring the full Call of Duty experience to Nintendo players. Interestingly enough, the Tweet mentions bringing “Xbox games” to Nintendo Switch, without mentioning Call of Duty at all, so it’s unclear if this also extends to Xbox games that aren’t Call of Duty.

Obviously at this stage, it’s a little bit meaningless as Xbox doesn’t own Activision-Blizzard yet, so until this passes through the respective governments, we can’t expect to see Call of Duty on Nintendo consoles.

The full statement reads:

“Microsoft and Nintendo have now negotiated and signed a binding 10-year legal agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo players – the same day as Xbox, with full feature and content parity – so they can experience Call of Duty just as Xbox and Play Station gamers enjoy Call of Duty.

We are committed to providing long term equal access to Call of Duty to other gaming platforms, bringing more choice to more players and more competition to the gaming market.”
