Tango Gameworks has dropped the free Arcade Challenge! Update! for its surprise hit rhythm-action game, Hi-Fi RUSH, bringing with it new modes to play and challenges to overcome.
Available to all players on Xbox and PC who either own the game or play it through Game Pass, the Arcade Challenge! Update! content includes two brand-new game modes in BPM RUSH! and Power Up! Tower Up!
Aside from bringing even more exclamation marks to the party, BPM RUSH! is a wave-based mode that increases the stage’s BPM with each new set of enemies that arrives, all the way up to 200 BPM. Chai will face familiar enemies as well as some new ones in this and the second extra mode, Power Up! Tower Up!, which gives players a new take on the Rhythm Tower challenge by stripping Chai of his abilities at the beginning and having players pick from a selection of upgrades between rounds – including some that’ll offer up added risk in return for bigger rewards.
The update also brings with it new Special Attacks, as well as new outfits for Chai and his crew, extra stickers for the game’s Photo Mode and more. Take a look at the trailer for the Arcade Challenge! Update! for Hi-Fi RUSH below:
“Test your abilities in two new game modes, uncover new rewards and even a few secrets in the Arcade Challenge! Update!
“The new BPM RUSH mode tasks players to battle waves of enemies to music with a steadily increasing BPM or beats per minute. As you defeat each wave and tackle toughened-up new foes, the BPM will speed up to the next level, up to a whopping 200 BPM!
“Power Up! Tower Up! is a twist on the Rhythm Tower mode that players unlock after their first playthrough. You’ll be climbing up floors and defeating waves of enemies, but this time you’ll be powering up a downgraded Chai with randomized Upgrades!
“The Arcade Challenge! Update! also contains additional content for players to earn through challenges and discover in-game, including poses for Photo Mode, t-shirts for Chai, Photo Mode stickers, extra outfits and even Special Attacks starring CNMN and Smidge, everybody’s favorite mechanical friends.”
