Blizzard is going absolutely nuts on the Diablo IV marketing in the lead-up to the game’s official release next week (and early launch this week, for some) and this next effort is definitely going to spawn some angelic victories and absolutely hellish losses for players.
To celebrate the launch, Blizzard is going to be erecting a statue of its big bad, Lilith, and immortalising 1000 players on it by decorating it with their usernames. There hasn’t actually been any word on how big the statue will be or where it will go up, but one can assume the names will feature on its base or on some kind of plaques adorning it.
But how do I get my Blizzard handle featured on a big bust of hell Mother, you ask? It’s simple – just be one of the first 1000 players to reach level 100 with a character in Hardcore mode and earn the Tempered Champion title in-game. That’s the mode where if you die at any point you’ll instantly lose all your progress and your character – no returns. Easy enough, right?
If you somehow manage this incredible feat without taking to your controller/keyboard with a hammer, blending all of the individual pieces into a fine paste and then eating the paste from a bowl on the floor like a dog, you’ll just need to tweet the #Diablo4Hardcore hashtag with “proof” to be in the running.
Think you can cheat death?
Reach level 100 on hardcore mode and tweet #Diablo4Hardcore with proof to have your username immortalized on a statue of Lilith.
