It’s been a long time coming for fans of Final Fantasy VIII but it’s finally happening, there’s a remaster coming. Fans don’t have to wait much longer, as the remaster is coming this year, Square Enix revealed during their E3 conference.
For the first time in the long history of Final Fantasy VIII, characters are going to be modeled to be realistic and true-to-life, moving away from their typical high-fantasy feel in favor of a grounded, modern story. It certainly sounds great and will certainly be a great jumping in point for those who perhaps haven’t played the game before.
The long-awaited remaster is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam later this year, two decades after its original release for PlayStation back in 1999.
