80 Million PS3 Units Shipped Worldwide

Since it’s launch back in 2006 the PS3 has had plenty of highs and lows. Today, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that have now 80 million PS3 units shipped worldwide.

It’s worth noting that this milestone reflects the number of units shipped to distributors, not the actual number of units purchased by customers through those distributors. Sony pointed towards The Last of Us, Journey, and their services, the PSN and Playstation Plus has huge things contributing to the consoles longevity.
