Capcom took to the stage during Sony’s pre-TGS media briefing today to announce details on their upcoming Resident Evil HD Remaster as well as a brand new title. Possibly the worst kept secret for a while now, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is now officially confirmed.
The game is said to be a follow on from the original game, but it won’t feature Jill or Chris. The setting and “period” will allegedly be new too, with the focus on delivering high quality graphics and bringing the series back to it’s roots. The official tagline for the game is “Evil Is Watching”.
The teaser Capcom showed was entirely comprised of live action footage – showing a young person moving through a crowd of people wearing green and red wristbands. Of course, there were zombies – possibly signifying a shift away from the sea bound monsters of the first Revelations title.
Little to no details were revealed besides this – but the game is quite far along in development as it will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show next week. Similarly, the game will be releasing in early 2015.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be releasing on Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and for PC. No Wii U or 3DS versions were announced.
