Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Latest Update Will Make Pawns Smarter And Less Chatty

Pawns for thought.

Great news for anyone sick of hearing “Different combinations of materials result in different creations!” for the millionth time, or having entire towns destroyed by dragons – though I think we can agree the former is more annoying. Capcom has announced that a new update for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is incoming that tweaks and fixes a number of features and issues related to Pawns.

The official Dragon’s Dogma account on X shared a breakdown of the update, which doesn’t have a set date yet but will be released on each platform as it’s ready. Major changes include a reduction in frequency of Pawns contracting Dragonsplague as well as more noticeable signs of a Pawn having come down with it, as well as adjustments to some Pawn behaviour. Chief among these is reducing the frequency of Pawn chatter and improving their lines to “better match” the circumstance, both of which will hopefully reduce the amount of repeated lines when out exploring with your party.

Amusingly, Capcom’s also implenting a fix that will make Pawns less likely to fall off cliffs. Take a look below at what’s changing:

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Update

Reducing the infection frequency of Dragonsplague and adjusting the signs of Pawns infected with Dragonsplague to be more noticeable. For example, when infected, glowing eyes will be more noticeable.
