Sonic The Hedgehog 2’s Super Bowl Trailer Has Arrived

Fans of the first Sonic the Hedgehog film won’t have to wait for the broadcast of this year’s Super Bowl to get a look at the next big trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as Paramount has released the trailer days prior to the big game.

The brief trailer, titled ‘Big Game Spot’ shows off a lot of cool stuff but focuses primarily on Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elba, whose destiny it is to destroy Sonic and help Dr. Robotnik destroy civilisation using the Chaos Emeralds.

The sequel sees the return of Ben Schwartz as the titular hedgehog, while Colleen O’Shaughnessey joins the film as Tails reprising her role from the storied video game franchise. James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Jim Carrey all return to reprise their roles, also.

The first film was an unexpected hit during the pandemic as it became a critical darling while amassing over $300 million USD at the box office.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 hits theaters on April 8, 2022.
