Look, there’s no denying Idris Elba is a certified #HunkyBoi, but this is a bit odd.
During a promotional tour for the recently released Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Elba voiced his concern about his character, Knuckles, being too sexy.
For those out-of-the-know, Knuckles is a red echidna who debuted as one of Sonic’s villains before becoming one of the franchise’s leading characters.
Oh, and he looks like this.
Chatting with Entertainment Tonight, Elba said he “was trying not to put on a sexy voice for Knuckles, and [he thought] someone else was like, ‘uh failed.”
“I was really going for a character that English wasn’t it’s first language, and that he was a little bit awkward… So, if that comes across as ‘sexy’, thumbs up,” he elaborated.
Chiming into the conversation, Jim Carrey (who portrays Sonic’s archnemesis, Dr Eggman) said Idris ‘has just got it going on.’
“Idris makes the coffee table seem sexier, you know? He puts his feet up on it and suddenly it’s like, damn! That coffee table is fire,” Carrey explained.
Who are we to disagree?!
