Grand Theft Auto 6 Leak Rockstar Statement

Rockstar Has Confirmed The Grand Theft Auto 6 Leak In A Statement And Says Development Will Continue As Planned

The company has spoken out

Over the weekend, over 90 pieces of gameplay footage and screenshots of an early version of Grand Theft Auto 6 were obtained from a third party and posted online.

Just moments ago, Rockstar acknowledged the leak on its social media, confirming that a third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential footage of the next GTA before sharing it online. Rockstar has said that it doesn’t anticipate it will effect development on the game and that development will continue as planned. It has also said that it will introduce gamers to this game when it is ready to be shown off.

“A Message from Rockstar Games

We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects.

We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations. We will update everyone again soon and, of course, will properly introduce you to this next game when it is ready. We want to thank everyone for their ongoing support through this situation.

– The Rockstar Games Team”

We have to say that Rockstar has handled this extremely well, and no doubt, we feel for the development team who has had to witness the first glimpse of the most anticipated game being posted online with ridiculous commentary following from the gaming community. We’ll keep you posted as more comes from this situation.
