Quinton Flynn, the voice actor behind many notable video game characters such as Axel/Lea in Kingdom Hearts, Reno in Final Fantasy VII Advent Children/Crisis Core and of course, Raiden in the Metal Gear series, has set internet tongues wagging with a Twitter reply claiming that an “announcement” related to that franchise is coming soon.
Flynn made a Tweet plugging his Cameo account, pointing out his range of voices including Raiden, and upon receiving a reply asking about the possibility of a Metal Gear Rising 2 or other Metal Gear news, responded with “Stayed tuned for things to be announced in the coming weeks.”
Of course, it’s hardly a confirmation of anything and Flynn could easily be throwing fans off with an ill-judged tease, but with the frequent rumours of various Metal Gear Solid remakes/re-releases and the potential leak of an upcoming PlayStation third-party showcase, it’s easy to see why people might be excited by the voice actor’s words.
