Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live 2023 Was Interrupted By Another Stage Crasher

Disappointing.

Today in traditions that absolutely nobody wants to see continue, another of Geoff Keighley’s live stage shows was interrupted by a stage crasher, this time very early on in the piece with a person attempting to crowd Keighley’s microphone to shout something about Bill Clinton and Grand Theft Auto 6.

The egregious act came as Geoff was boasting about having played Starfield before you, and was quickly ended as security closed in on the guy and moved him on.

Keighley was visibly and verbally disappointed with the act, saying “This is such a special night for so many developers, it’s really disappointing to see someone act that way but we’re gonna move right on with the show, we’ve got a lot of great games to show you. Really it’s just so sad to see something like this happen on a night we’re here to celebrate games and how much they mean to us.”

It’s obviously easy to see this is as a copycat stunt based on last year’s The Game Awards stage invader, who put a sour note on FromSoftware’s acceptance of the award for Game of the Year. Apparently though, this particular person is already known for pulling these stunts and rushing stages to declare his impatience for GTA 6. A known flog, in fewer words.
