Sonic Roll Is A New Sonic The Hedgehog Board Game Coming Next Year

Putting the Chaos in Chaos Emeralds.

SEGA and Kess Entertainment have unveiled Sonic Roll, a brand-new “semi-cooperative” board game based on the iconic hedgehog and friends, that’s due to launch at some point in January 2024.

The game will see 1-4 players work together as Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles and go about kicking Badnik butt, finishing stages and ultimately defeating longtime series villain, Eggman.

Feel more with PS5. Beyond the everyday. Beyond extraordinary. Even beyond imagination. Feel it now.

There’s been little else revealed about the project, but Kess Entertainment has set up an official webpage for Sonic Roll where keen fans can sign up to know more information as soon as it’s available. You can find that here.

Sonic’s been on a bit of a resurgence of late, with the excellent Sonic Prime animated series on Netflix, last year’s major 3D video game entry Sonic Frontiers, and the recently-released Sonic Superstars, which we scored a healthy 7.5/10 in our review, saying “While its value proposition is questionable, and its slew of modes are of varying quality, Sonic Superstars delivers a true sequel to the original games where Sonic the Hedgehog 4 failed to. The all-important physics are spot on, each Zone is a thrill to blast through, and inventive new ideas iterate on a tried and true formula.”
