Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Has Officially Gone Gold

I'm Sar-gonna play this.

Ubisoft has revealed that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, its exciting new metroidvania spin on the iconic franchise, has gone gold ahead of its January 18th, 2024 release date.

Going “gold” means the game is now feature and content complete, ready to press to discs and send to digital storefront servers around the world, with plenty of time for developer Ubisoft Montpellier to tighten and polish the game between now and launch (although hopefully they’re all coming into a break for the holidays).

The post announcing the milestone reads, “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has gone gold! On behalf of the entire team, we can’t wait for you to put your hands on the game and explore mythological Persia as Sargon. Your journey begins on January 18!”

We recently had the chance to go hands-on with a few hours of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, saying, “With just a handful of hours under my belt, I’m absolutely champing at the bit to see and play more of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Ubisoft Montpellier seems locked into something special here, and however good it looks from the outside or sounds in concept I can promise that it plays even better. Launch can’t come soon enough.”
