With Computex 2024 in full swing, MSI has debuted a number of exciting new technologies, especially for those of us inclined towards the world of PC gaming and the nitty-gritty of gaming PC builds.
While we’ve already gone over the big innovations in pre-built PCs and flashy monitors that the company has debuted at the event this week, for those keen on seeing where things like superfast storage and blisteringly-quick networking are going, and how they might shape your gaming experience, here’s what we’ve learned:
Storage
MSI has shown off some pretty slick storage solutions at Computex 2024, including a magnetic portable SSD that can attach to your phone and other portable devices to massively boost storage – a great fit for the number of high-quality, almost console level experiences hitting mobile devices recently. With a transfer rate of up to 40Gbps/20Gbps and a capacity of up to 4TB, the DATAMAG is a nifty little device that’s cross-platform compatible, portable and sturdy.

Networking
Over on the networking side, the company is fully embracing the WiFi 7 standard with a new mesh product series and USB adapter, bringing blazing speeds to your home network – perfect for those frantic, energy drink-fueled XDefiant and MultiVersus sessions.
First up is the Roamii WiFi 7 Mesh Series, which is geared to support those high-bandwidth activities we all love like such as 4K video streaming, online gaming and game streaming. It’s all about big speeds, big range and minimal latency, and if you ask us it all looks rather dashing as well.
If a more simple WiFi 7 solution for your desktop or laptop PC is what you’re after, the BE6500 WiFi 7 USB adapter will let you hook into your WiFi 7 network at up to 2882Mbps with plug-and-play ease.
