Following the news earlier today that the Nintendo Switch Online Service isn’t coming until 2018, Nintendo Australia have announced the pricing for the service in Australia and New Zealand.
As shown on the Nintendo ANZ website, one month will cost $5.95, a 3 month membership $11.95 and a 12 month subscription will set you back $29.95 (all AUD prices). Check out the image below for all the Australian and New Zealand prices.
It is honestly quite reasonable compared to the how much Xbox Live Gold and Sony’s PlayStation Plus cost yearly, although Nintendo’s service isn’t expected to be nearly as robust.
As part of the service, you’ll gain online lobby and voice chat (through the use of an smart phone app) and similar to Sony’s and Microsoft’s online game services, a selection of free titles each month.
A free limited version of the app will be available later this year, so we’ll have a chance to try it out before we buy in thankfully. If the service is anyway near as good as Microsoft’s Xbox Live service than it’ll be more than worth the price of admission.
