Full Nintendo Switch Online Service Isn’t Coming Until 2018 – Here’s The Pricing

Nintendo has now revealed that the full Nintendo Switch Online service won’t be coming until 2018. It’ll be called ‘Nintendo Switch Online’.

They’ve also revealed the pricing for Americans. It’s quite reasonable at $4 USD a month, $8 for three months and $20 for a year.

Nintendo has confirmed that their online will be free until 2018, which is when this full online service will end. After the trial, gamers will need to pay to play online.

The pricing is much better than expected, but I can’t help but feel that 2018 is a long time away for the entire online service. It means that we’ll be close to a year before Nintendo’s fully fleshed online service is up and running.

Online lobby and voice chat

Our new dedicated smart device app will connect to Nintendo Switch and let you invite friends to play online, set play appointments, and chat with friends during online matches in compatible games?all from your smart device.

A free, limited version of this app will be available for download in winter 2017.

Classic Game Selection

Subscribers will get to download a compilation of classic titles with added online play, such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario.

Nintendo eShop deals

Special offers for subscribers may include discounts on select digital games and content.
