Earlier this year, Nintendo America announced that John Cena was the face of their ‘Take Your Nintendo Switch Anywhere’ campaign. He was in a number of ads that were placed across the internet.
Today, Nintendo of America Tweeted out an image of Nintendo of America’s President, Reggie Fills-Aime as well as Nintendo’s Head of Sales and Marketing, Doug Bowser. It appears that they’re working on something top secret together and nobody really knows what.

John Cena is definitely a weird choice. One could definitely argue that he has mainstream appeal, but it doesn’t have much of a presence in the gaming world.
John Cena is also making iconic digs at the Tweet, quoting it and asking why the picture only features Reggie and Doug (implying that he can’t be seen).
Nobody knows for sure what John Cena is doing with Nintendo. It could be another ad campaign, but it seems like it’d be something bigger if both Nintendo and John Cena are going to be tweeting about it.
