The World Ends With You was one of the surprise hits for the Nintendo DS. When I played it all those years ago I was absolutely taken aback by it’s striking visuals and infectious soundtrack. We’ve never really heard anything of a sequel despite it’s interesting battle mechanics and intriguing story, but Square Enix are giving it another go on the Switch this year.
As with most the announcements tonight, The World Ends With You: Final Remix has been revealed in the Nintendo Direct Mini, and will be releasing sometime this year. The game will be reworked and retooled presumably to work with the Joy-Con controllers as well as touched up high definition visuals.

Thankfully, that’s not all, as a new story scenario will be included exclusively in this version, presumably bringing closure to the story.
