Previously announced in November alongside an anime adaptation, Square Enix have uploaded a new trailer that showcases some new gameplay as well as a release date.
This time around, you’ll be playing as Rindo, who themselves is a player in the Reapers’ Game. We don’t know a whole lot more about it – but one of the villains from the first game, Sho, will be playable as a party member in this one. The game also sports a new look – retaining the same quirky art direction as the original game though this time featuring full, 3D open environments.

If you’re keen to catch up, I recommend giving the Switch version of the original a shot. It looks as if story elements added into that version will be carried on in NEO.
NEO: The World Ends With You launches on July 27th 2021 for both Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch. A PC release follows sometime later, but will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
