Fortnite Has Been Downloaded 2 Million Times On Switch Already

For anyone who had their doubts about how Fortnite might perform on the Nintendo Switch, you can sleep easy. It’s doing just fine.

In fact, the Epic Games money-printer has already been downloaded two million times.

“Fortnite’s launch went extremely well — we had more than 2 million downloads in less than 24 hours,” Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told Polygon. “I think that speaks to the power of the franchise, the engagement of our players and the resonance of being able to play it anytime, anywhere.”

Of course, the launch has been hindered slightly by the log-in kerfuffle which prevents people from using accounts already linked to PlayStation, it’s a really messy situation. But given that players are making the switch in droves, pardon the pun, surely a fix is on the horizon so people don’t lose all of their progress moving between platforms.
