After being announced a little while ago, LEGO has today announced that the LEGO Super Mario starter kit and two expansions will be releasing on August 1st. Pricing has been confirmed for the Starter Kit in Australia. It’ll set you back $89.99 from LEGO’s official store and you’ll get two smaller expansions for free. You can grab it HERE.
The first two expansion sets have also been announced and priced. The Pirahna Plant Power Slide Expansion Set will be $49.99 whilst the Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle Expansion Kit will be $149.99.
The Super Mario LEGO kit differs to other LEGO kits in the sense that Super Mario has LCD screens as well as a speaker, and you can earn virtual coins by moving LEGO Mario from the Start Pipe to the Goal, by navigating through a number of obstacles from the world of Super Mario. It will also interact with a special app via Bluetooth. The LCD on Mario has over 100 different reactions to movement.
