Nintendo just dropped the bomb we’ve all been waiting for in 2020. They unleashed a Nintendo Direct of epic proportions announcing a handful of new Mario games and experiences that are coming starting today all the way up until 2021.
Super Mario 3D-All Stars is dropping on September 18th and will include enhanced versions of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. It’ll only be available until March 31st (both physically and digitally).
Super Mario 3D World is launching on February 12th, 2021 for Nintendo Switch. It’ll have online co-op and more levels in the form of a Bowser’s Fury expansion. There’s also a mega cute Cat Mario + Cat Peach Amiibo double pack that will release for $44.95.
This is a physical edition of the original Game & Watch which will include a bunch of little mini games that you can play. It’s releasing in a super limited run from November 13th for $79.95.
MARIO EVENTS GALORE IN OTHER NINTENDO GAMES
Mario Kart Tour will have a Super Mario Kart Tour event, with special appearances by Mario (Super NES) and Donkey Kong Jr. (Super NES) from the original Super Mario Kart game.****
A 35th anniversary-themed Ninji Speedruns course is coming to the Super Mario Maker 2 game in November.
Later this year, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will have an in-game online tournament using Super Mario series fighters, stages and items.
A Super Mario themed Splatfest is coming to Splatoon 2 in January 2021. Keychains will also be available as a My Nintendo reward closer to the Splatfest. In addition, physical Splatfest T-shirts will be available for purchase online later today.The upcoming Splatfest asks the important question: Which Super Mario power-up do you prefer? Supersize with a Super Mushroom or become invincible with a Super Star?
In March of next year, Super Mario themed furniture will be available in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game.
