Pokemon Diamond Pearl

A Pokemon Fan Has Reimagined Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl And It Looks Incredible

After Nintendo premiered the trailer for its upcoming remakes of Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, adequately named Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokemon fans had mixed reactions to the art-style and graphic quality of the upcoming titles.

Fortunately, one incredibly talented digital artist and game designer known as @millenniumloops has come up with a stunning alternative, inspired by the art-style of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Pokemon games have featured chibis for the last decade and a half and while some fans were pleased that the developer decided to honour the original titles, it seems many more were disappointed by the result. These fans, it seems, were hoping for a more fully-developed and realistic rendition of the region of Shinnoh as well as more detailed environments, shading and lighting. @millenniumloops went above and beyond to answer the call and published this gorgeous trailer after teasing Twitter with the above stills.

Though I’m undeniably excited for the upcoming remakes, I’ll gladly admit that I would be absolutely stoked if the games looked anything like @millenniumloops creation. It’s incredible what independent creators can do with their talent and I would love to see more from this artist.

In the meantime, fans of the Pokemon franchise will have their hands full when it comes to upcoming releases with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl releasing later this year and Pokemon Legends: Arceus to follow in 2022.
