Nintendo dropped another of its short and sweet Indie World showcases today, giving fans a look at what’s to come from small studios across the globe for the Nintendo Switch. As usual there’s still a lot to be excited about if you’re into strange, unique and creative experiences, and especially if you were keen on the oft-delayed Sports Story which is finally coming as soon as this December!

Venba
Play as an Indian mother, Venba, who immigrates to Canada with her family in the 1980s. Players will cook various dishes and decipher long lost family recipes. Through branching conversations, explore a story about family, love, and loss. Coming in 2023.
GOODBYE WORLD
Programmer Kanii and graphics artist Kumade are two friends who met in college. After graduating, they’ve been creating indie games together, but so far life has been harsh; Their games don’t sell, and most of their time is spent working part time jobs to make ends meet… As Kanii desperately tries to find a way to make a product that sells, Kumade makes a decision. This one’s coming later this month.
Have A Nice Death
Have a Nice Death is a hand-drawn 2D Action Roguelike where gamers will assume the role of Death, Founder and CEO of Death Incorporated, the giant underworld organization responsible for processing souls in the afterlife. It’s coming to Nintendo Switch on March 22, 2023!
Aka
Aka is coming on December 15th! It’s a top-down single-player game where you help a retired warrior to find inner peace. In this small open world, player can farm, craft and solve various quests to relax. On these carefully handcrafted islands, you can take a nap on a giant Capybara, feed baby dragons, take care of the fauna and flora … but demons from your past might come back to remind you what you want to forget.
Pepper Grinder
Devolver Digital is bringing this slick-looking drilling action platformer next year. Shipwrecked and robbed of her treasure, Pepper must spin up her trusty drill Grinder to reclaim what the mischievous Narlings stole. But it’s never that easy as mysterious figures begin to emerge from the shadows.
Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly
The next episode of Coffee Talk is coming in 2023! Dust off your coffee machine and prepare your warmest smile to meet your customers again in the second episode of the much-loved coffee brewing and heart-to-heart talking simulator.
ONI : Road to be the Mightiest Oni
On Kisejima, demon warrior Kuuta and his partner Kazemaru challenge these souls to a trial. All in order to defeat Momotaro, who is both human and enemy of demon. Follow this tale of sky and wind as the two embark on their island quest. This gorgeous-looking adventure is coming March 9, 2023.
Desta: The Memories Between
From the creators of Monument Valley, Desta: The Memories Between is a story of fractured relationships, words left unsaid and the chance to explore your dreams with turn-based tactics! This looks stylish as hell, and it’s coming early next year.
A Space For The Unbound
A slice of life adventure game with beautiful pixel art set in late ’90s rural Indonesia, that tells a story about overcoming anxiety, depression, and the relationship between a boy and a girl with supernatural powers. This one’s coming soon on January 19, 2023.
Dordogne
Play as Mimi, exploring stunning landscapes in hand-painted watercolors, and embarking on a vibrant journey to find out precious recollections of your childhood and the times shared with your late grandmother. As past meets present, confront your adult choices with fond childhood memories to uncover lost family secrets. Dordogne continues to look incredible and it’s out next year.
Botany Manor
Welcome to Botany Manor, a stately home in 19th century England. You play as its inhabitant Arabella Greene, a retired botanist. Explore your house and gardens, filled with research, to figure out the ideal habitat for a collection of forgotten flora. Grow each plant to discover the mysterious qualities they hold… Coming next year.
Once Upon A Jester
Travel the kingdom as Jester with his best friend Sok to improvise theater shows and perform on stages far and wide. Sing your hearts out, crack jokes and impress audiences to become the stars of the famous Royal Theatrical Spectacle! This silly-looking adventure game is out now!
Rogue Legacy 2
Rogue Legacy 2 is out on Nintendo Switch now! Today you are a colorblind Knight, tomorrow a lute playing Bard with Vertigo. Each heir is different, but everyone can be a hero. Blanc
Blanc is an artistic cooperative adventure that follows the journey of a wolf cub and a fawn stranded in a vast, snowy wilderness. They must come together in an unlikely partnership to find their families. Coming to Switch on February 14, 2023. This game is going to bring me to tears.

WORLD OF HORROR

Curse of the Sea Rats
Curse of the Sea Rats is headed to Switch next year. It’s a platform adventure with lovingly crafted, hand-drawn animations. Embark on the epic journey of four prisoners of the British empire, transformed into rats by the notorious pirate witch, Flora Burn. To regain their human bodies, they will have to fight dangerous bosses, uncover the secrets of the vast Irish coast, and ultimately capture the witch who cursed them.
