Update: After revealing a banger Rare game from the N64 headed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members in December, Nintendo has not only dropped Jet Force Gemini but it’s brought a total of three new N64 titles to the service. Here’s what’s available right now for subscribers of the top NSO tier:
- Jet Force Gemini
- Harvest Moon 64
- 1080º Snowboarding
Now that the last previously-known title, 1080º Snowboarding, along with the two fresh additions have released, we really don’t have a good read on the future of N64 games on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. We’re closing out the year with a great trio, at least:
In a bit of a surprise, Nintendo has revealed that Jet Force Gemini, Rare’s excellent 1999 sci-fi third-person shooter on the N64, is making its way to the Switch for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers.
Subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier membership will be able to download and play this classic starting next month.
This is big news not just because I reckon Jet Force Gemini is severely underrated and too often left out of conversations about Rare’s back catalogue, but because it’s a game that we didn’t know was coming to the Switch’s N64 library until now – opening the door for more to come just as 1080 Snowboarding remained the last known addition.
