The Nintendo Switch 2 Nintendo Direct is taking place in 5 days, where it’s expected that Nintendo will reveal everything about the Nintendo Switch 2 including price and release date and the launch line-up of games.
The one thing that was unclear was when Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders would go live. It had been rumoured that pre-orders would go live directly following the Nintendo Switch 2 Nintendo Direct, and Canada’s biggest retailer Best Buy has seemingly confirmed as much.
Posted on its website, Best Buy said “Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will open on April 2nd (April 3rd in Australia) at Best Buy Canada, giving you the chance to secure your console early. Here’s everything you need to know about the Nintendo Direct and how to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 from Best Buy Canada.”

Similar to how Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S pre-orders happened, we do similarly expect at this point that it seems likely that Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders will go live following the Direct (likely early morning on Thursday, April 3rd here).

- Wednesday April 2nd 11:30pm ACDT (Adelaide)
- Wednesday April 2nd 11:00pm AEST (Brisbane)
- Wednesday April 2nd 10:30pm ACST (Darwin)
- Wednesday April 2nd 9:00pm AWST (Perth)
