Midnight launches used to be such a massive part of major console/game releases. I’ll never forget going to my local EB Games for the Wii U launch, and it seems as though Sydney’s The Gamesmen has a similar nostalgia for them as they’ve announced that they’ll be hosting one for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Taking place on June 4th into June 5th, the event will be taking place at the Penshurst store and there will also be a gift pack for the first in line, giveaways and photo opportunities with the amazing Nintendo retro wall that’s on display.
Those that attend will be among the first in the world (thanks to timezones) to get their Nintendo Switch as well as titles such as Mario Kart World, Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom and Cyberpunk 2077.
It’s obviously advised that you pre-order your Nintendo Switch 2 if you’re planning on attending just in case stock sells out, and if you’re doing any trades to ensure that they’re done before the day.
At the time of writing, no other retailer has announced a Midnight release, and it doesn’t seem likely that EB Games and other retailers will go back to doing them.
