This Ridiculously Tall Melbourne Building Definitely Shouldn’t Be In Microsoft Flight Simulator
I remember seeing this in the distance when I was playing through Microsoft Flight Simulator pre-launch, but now people are getting close to Melbourne’s latest (and imaginative) skyscraper and even landing on it. You’d be forgiven for never having seen or heard about this ginormous Melbourne building that is in the suburb of Essendon. That’s because it doesn’t exist, except for in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
In Microsoft Flight Simulator a bizarrely eldritch, impossibly narrow skyscraper pierces the skies of Melbourne's North like a suburban Australian version of Half-Life 2's Citadel, and I am -all for it- pic.twitter.com/6AH4xgIAWg

Due to the fact that the game pulls in from Bing, a lot of the areas are misrepresented. When we posted our video flying across Australia, several people were quick to point out that the Harbour Bridge looked a little bit different.
This building in the middle of nowhere takes the cake though. This is definitely a semi built up area of Melbourne, but there’s definitely no building that’s this tall. Someone has even managed to land on it, which seems absolutely insane to me, but you can watch that below.
What the fuck is going on with this weird ass giant monolith thing in Melbourne? pic.twitter.com/BAHz75Jsro

I went to see Melbourne Obelisk. Can't believe they put this iconic Melbourne feature every Australian knows about in the game! Such close attention to detail! https://t.co/yfI8dFoFBr pic.twitter.com/wPkm2Daiq4
