The Subnautica Developers’ Gorgeous Virtual Tabletop Game Moonbreaker Is Out Now In Early Access

I'm just here to paint some miniatures!

One of the coolest surprises we got to see at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live was Moonbreaker, a new digital tabletop tactics game that aims to simulate a true tabletop miniatures experience set in a world penned by Brandon Sanderson (Mistborn, The Stormlight Archive).

There are a few things that the team at Unknown Worlds Entertainment (Subnautica, Natural Selection 2) aim to achieve with Moonbreaker, starting with an accessible turn-based competitive combat that’s easy to pick up and hard to put down. It’ll support this in Early Access and beyond with ongoing content releases, and the game will also feature procedurally generated single-player encounters to help players hone their skills.

There’s also a wonderful world of lore and miniatures for players to get invested in, with acclaimed fantasy author Brandon Sanderson helping to craft the Moonbreaker universe. The game features a robust customisation system where players can digitally paint their miniatures through detailed, constantly evolving painting tools.
