Nightdive Studios has provided an important new update on its crowdfunded remake of the pioneering 1994 first-person sci-fi classic, System Shock.
After having been delayed numerous times in the past, and with publisher Prime Matter coming in during development to help with publishing, the studio has finally landed on a March 2023 release window for the System Shock remake.
Nightdive Studios says that the extra support afforded by Prime Matter has allowed the team to go back and add a ton of polish and extra details to the game, including new enemy variants, updated effects and custom dismemberment.
System Shock was one of our favourite titles that we played at Gamescom 2022, and a demo of the game is available on Steam if you’d like to try it out for yourself.
