Alan Wake 2’s PC Requirements Have Been Revealed And Your Old Typewriter Won’t Cut It

You need one of those Ahti-X cards.

Remedy has just publsihed the list of PC requirements for next week’s hugely-anticipated sequel, Alan Wake II, and look, there’s no getting around it – these are some pretty big asks even at the low end.

You’re going to need at least a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or similar AMD card coupled with 16GB of RAM and the equivalent of an Intel i5-7600K just to play the game at 1080p30 at the lowest visual preset with DLSS/FSR2 running, whereas an RTX 3070 is the baseline if you want 1080p60, and that’s without ray tracing features enabled. Slap on some fancy reflections and lighting and it’s a minimum RTX 3070 to get the thing running, with a GeForce RTX 4080 and Ryzen 7 3700X equivalent required for full 4K with RT on high and path tracing enabled.

Of course, this is a “proper” new-generation game with all of the performance expectations that come with that, so it’s not hugely surprising that the barrier of entry is quite high when it comes to PC hardware, and it’s absolutely going to look phenomenal even on the lower end.

Take a look at the full chart below:

We recently got the chance to see an in-depth, behind closed doors look at Alan Wake II with the team at Remedy at this year’s Summer Game Fest and came away suitably impressed and ready for more, you can read about that right here.

Alan Wake II is set to launch as a digital-only title on October 27th for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
