Star Wars: The Old Republic Is Launching An APAC Region Cloud Server This Week

Servers a little less far, far away.

EA and Broadsword have announced the launch of an all-new Asia-Pacific (APAC) cloud server for its long-running MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, giving players in the region access to better infrastructure and improved performance.

The new server, dubbed Shae Vizla, is located very locally in Sydney and being brought online this week on Friday, November 17th at 6AM AEDT for those with a paid subscription or Saturday, November 18th at 6AM AEDT for all players. “Star Wars: The Old Republic’s recent technological updates and new APAC server make it the best time yet for current, returning and new players to embark on their next Star Wars journey,” reads the press release announcing the new server. “Shae Vizla will be a new server with no transfers available at launch; however levelling boosts will be enabled. This will give new and returning players a space to start on a clean slate while providing the development team with the ability to monitor the health of the server’s economy.”
