Keen for the launch of Black Myth: Wukong next week but unsure if your PC has the chops to run the game in all the visual splendour we’ve seen of it so far? There’s a tool for that!
Developer Game Science has just launched a benchmarking app on Steam which will allow eager players to not only check out a visual demo of the upcoming Journey to the West-inspired action RPG, but give them a general idea of how the game will run on their particular hardware.
The Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool is a PC benchmark application specifically developed for Black Myth: Wukong,” reads the official description. “It evaluates your hardware performance and system compatibility through the real-time rendering of an in-game sequence. You can customize benchmark settings to preview game visuals and performance under different graphics options.”
The game’s PC requirements are actually more reasonable than its stunning trailers may have implied so far, with at least some room for lower-end GPUs like the GTX 1060 or RX 580 if you’re okay with “Medium” settings at 1080p. Naturally, throwing in ray-tracing features changes things significantly with at least an RTX 30 series card and a beefier CPU required even for Medium/1080p settings.

Game Science also recently dropped a lengthy “final” trailer for Black Myth: Wukong in the lead-up to launch.
The trailer gives us another look at the game’s stunning Unreal Engine 5-powered visuals packing huge and lush environments as well as some pretty remarkable enemy designs and slick action.
While we unfortunately haven’t been given review access to the game and so won’t have a full review available at launch, recently press previews for the game indicated that it was shaping up to be something special, with those who’ve played it comparing it to some of the best recent “soulslikes” and calling it a potential favourite for 2024.
