New Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer Confirms Release Timing And Storyline

Rockstar has overnight dropped a brand new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. The trailer lasting just over a minute and a half reveals more about the story including the fact that it features Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across America. The game is still set for release in Autumn 2018 in Australia (Spring 2018 in America), so this looks to be rock solid at this point.

Whilst the trailer doesn’t reveal a whole lot gameplay-wise, it does almost guarantee that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel. This is due to the fact that you might remember running this certain gang down in the original game, suggesting that it takes place before this event. It’s unclear whether the game will lead up to this moment or finish sometime before, but hopefully we get confirmation soon.

We also get an awesome look at some of the environments which look much more varied than in the last game, and the epic beasts that we’ll get to battle whilst free-roaming through America. There’s also a glimpse of a train robbery, which could suggest to me that we’re getting heists similar to that of Grand Theft Auto V. There’s also a bow and arrow which wasn’t really featured in Red Dead Redemption (but was in Red Dead Revolver).

“The all-new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive. Coming Spring 2018 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems.”

Hopefully we’ll get to see more of Red Dead Redemption 2 before the year is out. Rockstar usually keep gameplay under wraps until really close to release, but it’d be great to see how this has evolved from the last game.
