Ahead of its June 19th release date, The Last Of Us Part II has gone gold.
The announcement was made by Neil Druckmann on Instagram who described that a game going gold is when the disc begins to be pressed with the executable being put on the PlayStation Network.
He went on to thank his team by saying that “this is the most ambitious game we’ve ever made. I know I’ve said this before but you won’t know to what degree until you get your hands on it and just see the care that has gone into every detail from the level design, the mechanics, graphically how the game looks, environments, art direction, characters, story, the audio design, the soundtrack – oh my god, the soundtrack is so amazing.”
He also went on to say that even for the team “we’ve played this game and can’t count how many times, we know it inside and out but it still emotionally moves us. I just finished a play through and was crying by the end of it”
