We now know that the PS5 is launching on November 12th. It’s been a whirlwind announce, with pre-orders selling out almost instantly and similarly, the PS5 launch titles are also a bit all over the place at the moment (which is why we’ve put this together).
It’s worth mentioning that all PS4 games (or 99% of them) will work on a PS5 on day one, so games like Cyberpunk 2077 that won’t get a next-gen upgrade until next year, will still be playable when it release the week after PS5. It’s also worth mentioning PlayStation Collection which will bring 18 PS4 games to PS5 on day one for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
CONFIRMED PS5 LAUNCH TITLES
The PS5 launch line-up definitely has more first-party titles, but it’s worth mentioning that Spider-Man Miles Morales and Sackboy: A Big Adventure will also both release on PS4 at the same time, with Demon’s Souls and Destruction All-Stars both being first-party PS5 exclusives.
FIRST-PARTY PS4 GAMES THAT WILL RECEIVE A NEXT-GEN UPGRADE ON DAY ONE
This is something we don’t know a lot about yet for PS5. We don’t know if games such as The Last Of Us Part II or Ghost of Tsushima will be getting upgrades for PS5.
PS5 GAMES THAT ARE COMING DURING THE LAUNCH WINDOW
It’s hard to know what even defines a launch period anymore. I’d say it’s the first six months of launch, but I get the feeling that we’re going to see Sony/Microsoft extend it to closer to 12 months this time around. These are the PS5 games that I expected to see in the first six months of launch.
