This is something I’ve found weird, but it’s going to save a bit of money (especially considering PS5 games are going to cost more than PS4 games). So far, we know of a number of PS4 games that will come with free PS5 upgrades, and for some weird reason, the PS4 versions of those games are all $10 cheaper. I get that some people will be wanting PS5 covers, and that’s totally fine too, but just odd to me that you can pay $10 less and get the exact same thing. This isn’t an issue on Xbox as the majority of these titles are Xbox Series X/Xbox One on the same disc.
PS4 GAMES THAT ARE GETTING FREE PS5 UPGRADES
- Watch Dogs Legion – $69 (PS5 Version $79/$99 RRP)
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla $69 (PS5 Version $79/$99 RRP)
- Spider-Man: Miles Morales – $79 ($89 on PS5)
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure – $89 ($99 on PS5)
- FIFA 21 – $69 (RRP $99.95)
- Madden NFL 21 – $69 (RRP $99.95)
- Just Dance 2021 – $65 (PS5 $75 RRP)
- Far Cry 6 – $69 (PS5 Version $79/$99 RRP)
- Immortals Fenyx Rising – $74 (Cheaper on PS5)
- Cyberpunk 2077 – $79 (PS5 patch in 2021)
So there you have it. As we move into this weird period of cross-gen games, where the majority have free upgrades, if you’re looking to save dollars here and there, there’s definitely ways to do it if you’re savvy.
