It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the Ace Attorney series. They’ve got some kooky writing, some great humour, and some really engaging gameplay mechanics.
When The Great Ace Attorney released for the 3DS over five years ago, I was keen to try it. But, six years on, the games remained Japanese-only. Until now.
Overnight, Capcom has announced that they’ll be bringing both games (The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and The Great Ace Attorney: Resolve) to PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in July. Both games are available together as The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.
The games see you playing as Phoenix Wright’s ancestor in turn of the 20th century Japan and England to solve criminal cases and find the right culprit. While you play as Phoenix’s ancestor, named Ryunosuke, you’ll also team up with the world’s greatest detective Herlock Sholmes. No, that wasn’t a typo.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on July 27th 2021.
Physical releases have been confirmed for other territories if you’re an avid collector – stay tuned for local release details, if any.
