Crystal Dynamics has announced that a brand new Tomb Raider game is on the way. Development has only just started but the team is using Unreal Engine 5 to build the game which will result in next-level story telling and gameplay experiences.
The studio went on to say that it is their goal to “push the envelope of fidelity and to deliver the high quality cinematic action adventure experience that fans deserve from the Tomb Raider franchise”.
This is the first game in the series since the 2018 game Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which was developed by another studio. Given this wrapped up the events of the last trilogy, this new game is expected to kick off a brand new story for Lara Croft.
With the announcement of the game signalling that development has just started, it’ll probably be 2-3 years at least before we see this game hit the market, but it’s an exciting time for Lara Croft and Tomb Raider fans alike.
