The Quarry’s Movie Mode Will Let You Watch The Entire Game Without Touching The Controller

The Quarry, the next big game from Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures developer Supermassive Games, is shaping up to be the studio’s most cinematic video game yet. To that end, it looks as though players will be able to get the full cinematic experience with a new ‘Movie Mode’ that essentially plays itself.

IGN recently published a preview of the game after getting hands-on with the first three hours, which is a great read if you’re keen to know how Supermassive’s latest effort is shaping up, and went into some detail about the various options on offer to make the game as playable and accessible as possible to a wide audience. Aside from toggles for things like combat and QTEs, IGN also described the Movie Mode, which essentially allows players to set up the behaviours of each of the game’s nine playable characters in advance and watch the entire thing unfold without any further input.

Check out the video version of the preview below:

As we previously reported, the game’s Deluxe Edition will also contain a ‘Gorefest’ option in Movie Mode, which promises “an abundance of death, dismemberment, and buckets of blood”.

The Quarry is releasing on June 10th for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC and is available for pre-order now on Amazon:
