Sony Reckons It’ll Be Easy To Upgrade Your Existing PlayStation Plus Subscription To The New Tiers

Good news for current subscribers!

It might seem obvious but it’s good to hear it from the mouths of the people responsible – it sounds like PlayStation is adamant that current PlayStation subscribers wanting to convert their existing PS+ subscriptions to the newly-announced Extra and Deluxe tiers will be able to do so painlessly.

A Resetera user has shared an email they received from PlayStation since the new tiers were finally given estimated global launch dates that contains the following text:

You can easily upgrade to a higher benefits plan at any time. To do so, you’ll need to pay the difference between your current plan and your new plan, adjusted for the remaining time of your subscription.

While it’s unclear exactly how PlayStation plans to calculate the difference when upgrading a subscription to a higher tier, it’s at least nice to know that upgrading your plan at any point won’t involve any payment double-ups.
