The Last Of Us Remake

A The Last Of Us PS5 Remake Is Still Apparently Coming This Year

A big holiday game

There’s been rumours of a The Last Of Us remake for PS5 for over a year now, and it looks like they’re not letting up.

On an episode of the Kinda Funny Gamescast, Jeff Grubb said that “I keep hearing that that’s coming out this year” in relation to The Last Of Us remake. “The Last of Us remake this holiday.. I’m pretty confident about that” he continued.

It’s said that Naughty Dog took over development of the game when it finished The Last Of Us Part II. This also comes after it was spotted on a LinkedIN profile that a Naughty Dog QA tester was working on an “unannounced remake project”.

It’s unclear at this point what a The Last Of Us remake could entail. Obviously, we’d expect it to look more like The Last Of Us Part II, and utilise the new physics and A.I engines put in place for that game, but whether any new content will be added, to be in line with the HBO TV show, is unclear at this point.

Rumours have also suggested that the multiplayer The Last Of Us game could release alongside the remake, and that the studio was also working on a The Last Of Us Part II Director’s Cut, which makes sense given the recent releases of the Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding Director’s Cut.

If the game does release this holiday, it’ll be interesting to see what else PlayStation has this year, with God of War: Ragnarok slated to release, with PlayStation VR 2 also on the table at some point in the near future.
