New PS1/PSP Classic Features For PlayStation Plus Have Been Revealed Alongside A Couple More Games

Classic games given a decent treatment!

As the new PlayStation Plus tiers roll out this week to Asia (literally any second now), we’re starting to get a look at more PS1/PSP games that are being added to the PlayStation Store for purchase, as well as some of the classic features that we can expect to see.

It’s unclear at this point how final the previous list of games that PlayStation released for the new PlayStation Plus is, but we’ve started getting a few more trickling onto the store. As noted on Resetera, These include the likes of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee (PS1), Worms World Party (PS1), Ridge Racer 2 (PSP) and Worms Armageddon (PS1).

What’s interesting is the fact that PS1 games seem to be up-ressed, have the ability to swap between aspect ratios, video presets such as retro classic (CRT) + modern, online functionality and the ability to add trophies. PSP games are also up-ressed and both titles support rewind and quick save including the ability to upload these saves alone.

This can be seen in the game’s descriptions: “Experience Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee originally released on the PlayStation console, enhanced with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters.” and “Experience Ridge Racer 2 originally released on the PSP(PlayStation Portable) system, enhanced with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters.”

As far as buying the games individually, you can expect to spend between $6 and $12 AUD for each title. Unfortunately, we don’t get the new PlayStation Plus until the end of June, but we should start seeing a lot more information in the coming weeks.
